Khyber Pakhtunkhwa worker welfare board/fund announced scholarships for children of industrial and mine workers enrolled in colleges/universities and institutions for session 2023-24. Students studying at different institutions are divided into three groups. The deadline for applications of Inter/DAE students will be October 31st, 2023. Students with undergraduate degrees are able to apply before December 31st, 2023. MBBS Engineering, Engineering, and postgraduate students are eligible to apply by March 31st, 2024.

Workers’ welfare boards must take care of all expenses for students, which include admission fees, tuition fees transportation charges for hostels, hostel charges, computer fees, library fees, and exam fees. A monthly stipend may be provided to students.

Workers must meet the requirements that is provided in the Industrial Relation Act IRA 2012. A minimum period of service of three years is required. The worker should also have a valid registration in EOBI as well as ESSI. The employees who are members of the Worker Welfare Board and Fund and their children are qualified to receive the award.

Fund Scholarship 2023 Categories

Students are classified into three categories.

  1. Students who are enrolled in schools under the direction under the supervision of the Worker Welfare Board / Fund. If there are no seats at those institutions, pupils can be admitted to public schools or Cadet Colleges of either Provincial as well as Federal Governments. Students who are enrolled in the Worker Welfare Board’s high schools will be given first preference. A monthly allowance of PKR 3500 per month will be provided to students in these schools. The deadline to apply for Category 1 is October 31, 2023.
  2. Graduation degrees (2-year and/or four-year diploma) or equivalent HEC accredited Government or Private University or students enrolled in Affiliated Government Colleges. A monthly salary of PKR 4500+/-
  3. Engineering or Medical Degrees or post-graduation qualification from any recognized government or private university or college. A monthly stipend of 5500 dollars.

Documents required 

  • Admission offer letter issued by HEC/PMDC/HERA an accredited institution
  • The form of the scholarship must be signed by the factory’s Management or CBA
  • Affidavit of CNIC/Form-B/Birth
  • A certified duplicate of the Worker’s CNIC
  • Attestable EOBI/ESSI Worker Card
  • Copy of EOBI/ESSI worker’s card
  • Copies of the DMC/Marks sheets/Result cards from previous examinations.
  • Original Service Certificate issued by the manufacturer of the particular factory
  • Initial Payslips from the factory
  • Copy of the 2 percent payment certificate in accordance with the relevant registration act/industrial or Mines act
  • Copies of receipts for payment of fees from the university in question.
  • Documental proof of the registration/recognition of the institution
